Summary
At DSV, The Senior HR Specialist, Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading and executing full-cycle recruitment strategies across assigned business units and regions within DSV. This role serves as both a strategic partner and hands-on recruiter, managing complex and high-volume requisitions while providing guidance and mentorship to other recruiters.
This position requires a high degree of self-efficiency, strategic thinking, and operational execution, particularly in environments involving new site start-ups, project implementations, and large-scale hiring initiatives. The Senior HR Specialist ensures the delivery of high-quality candidates, supports employer branding initiatives, and serves as a trusted point of contact for internal stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned functions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
• Partner with business leaders and hiring managers to develop strategic recruiting plans aligned with operational needs and workforce planning goals.
• Support higher-level and specialty recruitment efforts requiring advanced sourcing techniques and stakeholder engagement.
• Maintain awareness of key talent acquisition metrics (cost per hire, time to fill, retention rates) within assigned area of responsibility and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert in recruitment best practices, compliance, and market trends.
• Lead project implementation for new site launches, high-volume start-ups, or regional hiring expansions.
• Coordinate and execute hiring events, career fairs, and community outreach in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Coach, train, and mentor junior and entry-level recruiters to build sourcing capabilities, compliance awareness, and stakeholder management skills.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the TA team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with P&O Business Partners, Safety, and Operations leadership to ensure alignment on headcount priorities and labor strategies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for designated business units or stakeholder groups, ensuring high-level communication and partnership.
• Provide consultative guidance to leaders on market trends and recruitment challenges.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and responsiveness, ensuring stakeholders are informed and supported throughout the hiring process.
• Escalate or resolve recruitment obstacles promptly while maintaining professionalism and transparency.
• Ensure accurate and timely updates in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and reporting dashboards.
• Monitor key TA performance indicators (cost per hire, time to fill, submittal-to-hire ratios) and present data-driven insights to management.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as DSV’s internal policies, guidelines, and data privacy standards.
Skills & Competencies
• Demonstrated self-efficiency with the ability to operate autonomously and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and selection for both high-volume and professional roles.
• Proven experience managing recruitment projects, new site implementations, or start-up environments.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
• Ability to coach and mentor other recruiters and drive consistently in process execution.
• Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Skilled in analyzing recruitment metrics (time to fill, cost per hire, quality of hire).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
Educational background / Work experience / Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition or Recruitment required; supply chain or logistics industry experience preferred.
• Proven experience leading high-volume and complex recruiting efforts across multiple sites or functions.
• Experience coaching recruiters, managing vendor relationships, and collaborating with business leaders.
Language Skills
• Due to the nature and scope of the international business in dealing with customers, colleagues and overseas offices, English is the principal language for this position and in addition, proficiency of the French language is required for local communication
• Preferably good command of local language
Computer Literacy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and ATS platforms.
Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions
• Ability to travel up to 30% for hiring events, site launches, and stakeholder meetings.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is often required to walk and use hand and eye coordination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Hours and Environment
Normal working hours for this position are Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, however, working beyond these hours will be required by business needs.
