Move forward as Automation Engineer at DSV in Venlo

Are you ready to design and realise cutting-edge logistics automation? This is your chance to make real impact in our international warehouse environments.

You get it done

Within the Automation & Technology department, which is part of the Solutions Design division, you contribute to future-proof, automated logistics concepts for clients in a dynamic, international market: you’re on it.

How you do this? You initiate, develop, sell and implement automation solutions that fit the logistics operations of our customers. It starts with analysing customer requirements, logistics processes and available data to identify where automation adds value. You translate operational challenges into innovative concepts for material handling, robotics and warehouse automation, applying modelling methods such as simulations and commercial financial analyses. You then prepare full business cases, including cost-benefit and sensitivity analyses, and present them convincingly to internal stakeholders and potential customers.

As an automation engineer, you guide the entire process from concept to implementation. You work closely with Solutions Design, Data Science, Sales and Marketing to integrate automation proposals into the commercial process and ultimately deliver them at customer sites. You manage suppliers and internal project teams, ensure professional communication throughout each project phase and secure alignment between automation concepts and the dynamic logistics environment of each customer. This is how you make automation scalable, feasible and future-proof. You achieve this by:

  • developing innovative automation concepts for warehousing and material handling;
  • analysing large datasets, performing simulations and financial modelling;
  • determining automation and robotics requirements and translating them into business cases and customer presentations.

Your team stands out within DSV by its technical expertise, data-driven design philosophy and close cooperation with Sales, Marketing and Operations. You will collaborate with specialists from different countries and disciplines.

You bring

  • a relevant bachelor’s degree;
  • at least 3 years of relevant experience in logistics or warehouse automation;
  • analytical skills and experience with simulations, financial modelling and data analysis;
