Move forward as Freight Forwarder Special Services at DSV in Venlo

Ready to make a real difference? As a Freight Forwarder Special Services, you literally and figuratively push boundaries. As the name of the department suggests, you and your colleagues focus on specialist transport solutions.

You get it done

Shipments that do not fit, or only partially fit, within the standard network are handled by Special Services. Whether it concerns oversized transport, projects, Road+ solutions or shipments across Europe in all directions: you’re on it.

How you do this? As a freight forwarder special services, you focus on setting up complete transport solutions for our customers. From the initial request and execution through to financial settlement, you take the lead. You achieve this by:

• handling transport requests, spot quotes, tenders and internal enquiries;
• buying and selling transport capacity within a network of carriers and/or using our own fleet within the department;
• identifying temporary warehousing solutions for our customers;
• calculating margins, preparing and issuing quotations, and ensuring proper financial settlement;
• coordinating the execution of transport orders, monitoring progress and resolving escalations when necessary;
• maintaining close contact with our customers, including on-site visits, often together with the Account Manager.

You bring

• a passion for the profession; a qualification in transport or logistics is a plus;
• some experience in transport planning and/or freight forwarding, for example in LTL/FTL, import and export, or specialist transport;
• a commercial mindset, balancing the interests of both DSV and the customer;
• good command of both the Dutch and English languages; knowledge of German is a strong advantage.
