- Trade compliance: Oversee trade-compliance management for the company’s import and export activities, ensuring full alignment with PRC and international laws and regulations on export controls, economic sanctions and customs supervision. Provide day-to-day trade-compliance advice and support to business units, assess transaction-level risks, deliver compliance recommendations and help craft practical solutions. Build and maintain an internal export-control & sanctions-compliance review mechanism; screen customers, suppliers, end-users and other transaction parties against restricted-party lists to prevent dealings with denied persons or sensitive end-uses. Monitor and interpret regulatory developments in export controls and sanctions issued by key jurisdictions.
- Compliance document review: Day-to-day compliance review of customer documents with a focus on anti-bribery & corruption, export control and personal data protection requirements.
- Conduct third-party due diligence processes, including training stakeholders and reviewing documentation.
- Develop, deliver, and track compliance training programs (both online and in-person) to ensure China employees understand the Code of Conduct, compliance policies, and relevant laws. Create and execute communication initiatives to promote compliance awareness, including newsletters, short videos, posters, and presentation materials.
- Drive the implementation of the compliance projects, ensuring alignment with corporate and APAC, Group standards and objectives.
- Proactively identify, assess, and prioritize enterprise-wide compliance risks (anti-bribery, trade sanctions etc.).
- Lead internal investigations into allegations of misconduct, fraud, or regulatory breaches; manage end-to-end investigation lifecycle (scoping, evidence preservation, witness interviews, forensic data analysis, root-cause analysis, corrective-action recommendations).
- Serve as data-privacy subject-matter expert: lead Data Protection Impact Assessments, draft and negotiate DPAs, monitor cross-border data transfers, and ensure seamless alignment with GDPR, PIPL etc. regulations.
- Partner with global teams to address compliance challenges and implement best practices.
