JOB OVERVIEW 

 

This position manages end-to-end Import and Export operations to ensure timely, accurate, and SOP-compliant shipment execution. Serve as the primary contact for customers, coordinating closely with internal teams to deliver service excellence and resolve operational issues. Monitor performance through KPI reporting, support process improvements, and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and cost controls. 

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure Import / Export operations run smoothly and SOP compliant 

  • Manage and co-ordinate the entire shipment process for customers 

  • Study and implement new customers processes 

  • Prepare KPI reports for customers & attend to Operation Review meetings when required 

  • To be proactive in preventing service failure 

  • To be resourceful in managing recovery 

  • To co-ordinate shipment closely with Customers and various departments to ensure shipments executed correctly 

  • To monitor & ensure Customers make prompt payments 

  • To rectify & resolve payment discrepancies  

  • To draft adhoc quotations to Customers 

  • To develop good relationship with Customers 

  • To observe & control daily operational issues in order to comply Customer requirements 

  • To co-ordinate Customer Service & Operational information and expedite for replies 

  • To analyse and recommend corrective actions and improvements 

  • To handle customers complaints 

  • To be the main contact for Customers and Schenker internally 

  • To avoid incurring Cost of Quality, maximum at SGD 1,000 per year 

  • Any other job-related tasks as assigned by the superior 

  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct policy of the DSV Group 

 

Specific Accountabilities 

  • Responsible for individual and team’s performance  

          – accuracy and timeliness of bookings, reports and shipment arrangements 

          – new requirements / process alignment 

          – SOP update and staff training 

          – quotation submission 

  • Response and follow up on enquiries / issues 

  • Cost of Quality 

  • AED compliance 

  • Data preparation and presentation for Customer’s Operation Review 

  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

To be elaborate by manager during interview. 

 

 FUNCTION/ BUSINESS ACUMEN 

  • Functional know-how in air  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant qualifications and a proven track record with a minimum of 2 years of experience in freight operations and data analytics 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by excellent interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Experience in handling case inquiries and customer complaints independently. 

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. 

  • Adaptability and innovative thinking in a rapidly changing environment, with passion for continuous learning and improvement. 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating across diverse groups. 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and commitment to continuous improvement and meeting deadlines. 

  • Effective team player 

  • Proficient in data analytics / AI tools (e.g Microsoft Excel, Power BI etc) 

  • Skilled in digital tools and platforms for process automation (e.g. Power App etc)  

 

EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE 

  • Diploma and above 

  • Minimally 2 years Freight operations experience
