1. 1. Transport Planning & Scheduling

   • Plan daily transport operations (routes, schedules, delivery timelines)
   • Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently
   • Optimize routes to reduce cost, transit time, and empty runs

   2. Shipment Coordination

   • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with customers, warehouses, and drivers
   • Ensure shipments meet agreed timelines and service requirements
   • Handle special transport needs (e.g., oversized cargo, temperature-controlled goods)

   3. Vendor & Fleet Management

   • Liaise with subcontractors, carriers, and transport vendors
   • Check availability of trucks, trailers, or special equipment
   • Monitor vendor performance and service quality

   4. Cost Control & Optimization

   • Manage transport costs (fuel, tolls, subcontractor rates)
   • Improve efficiency through consolidation and route optimization
   • Support quotation/pricing for transport services

   5. Documentation & Compliance

   • Ensure all transport documents are accurate (DO, POD, permits)
   • Comply with local regulations (road laws, customs, safety requirements)
   • Maintain records of shipments and deliveries

   6. Problem Solving & Exception Handling

   • Manage delays, breakdowns, or urgent shipment requests
   • Provide quick solutions to minimize service disruption
   • Communicate issues proactively to customers/stakeholders

   7. Communication & Reporting

   • Act as the main contact between operations, customers, and drivers
   • Provide updates on shipment status and delivery progress
   • Generate reports (KPIs, utilization, delivery performance)
