Freight Forwarder

DSV are recruiting for a Distribution Operative in Mercia Park.

Key Tasks

• Working with the distribution team to deliver customers freight within the agreed timescale and customers specifications for each consignment. 
• Support our fleet of drivers who are on the road ensuring any issues are resolved in a timely manner resulting in >98.5% delivery rate 
• Provide effective and concise communication to all stake holders. 
• Using all tools available to ensure that customers freight is delivered “on time and in Full”, whilst growing our Gross Profit. 
• Achieve your performance targets and objectives, acting upon opportunities for improvement as well as building on your own strengths. 
• Liaising with colleagues and 3rd parties around the UK to ensure a joint approach to delivering our customers freight. 

Duties / Responsibilities

• Role model our corporate values, working as part of the distribution team to improve how we collaborate with others, communicate in a respectful way, and embrace a culture of coaching and feedback. 
• To Continually grow your own knowledge and skills, enabling you to cover multiple roles as and when required. 
• Provide handover feedback at the end of every day to Management, supervisor, and colleagues. 

Skills and Competencies

• The position will consist of a mix of operational tasks as well as administrational and commercial responsibilities.
• The applicant must be organised and punctual, can have good knowledge of the road freight industry and prior experience in transport, as well as sourcing one-way hauliers.
• We are looking for a person who can add extra quality to our already highly skilled team in DSV, and be able come up with alternative solutions to challenges and problems whilst at the same time work under pressure.
