Responsible for managing the daily operation at two locations (Bergen op Zoom and Tholen) in South West Netherlands. And proactively with the improvement and qualitative growth of your teams. With your experience and energy as Manager Operations. That's what you do.

You manage your team on site in Bergen op Zoom with part of the production and packaging process at a customer in the chemical sector. In Tholen (2 days a week) you directly manage 3 Senior Warehouse Supervisors and indirectly 10 Warehouse Team Leaders. As Manager Operations you are ultimately responsible for the entire logistics process and its design within the warehouse. You cooperate.

Our location in Bergen op Zoom comprises approximately 23,000 m2 of warehousing and production. In our 94,000 m2 warehouse in Tholen, storage and removal is provided for various international key accounts (including consumer electronics, pharmaceuticals and raw materials for the food industry).

How do you do this?

You are active with personnel policy (from absenteeism to applications), think and work in processes, have spatial insight to work even more efficiently (for the customer and DSV) and are active in expanding secondary activities (VAL, special projects). You also keep in close contact with the account manager and site manager. You are a member of the local MT and report directly to the site manager (Jurgen) and provide him with KPIs.

Your responsibility is to manage the daily operation. You guarantee quality and communicate internally based on the numbers! Your task is to maintain the (desired) result and to strive for the next step together with all employees. You do this with your analytical and communication skills.

Your extensive knowledge / experience in the field of production logistics, warehousing and distribution, solution-oriented, extroverted and positive personality is central to your position. This is to inspire, motivate, train and transfer your knowledge/experience to colleagues. As Manager Operations you do not let yourself be put in a box, but you are someone who shows involvement in the (daily) operation with a fresh look and energy. You achieve this by:

•    act in a problem-solving manner and be active as a point of contact for your colleagues regarding escalations and issues;
•    to be responsible for compliance with the (work) agreements and maintenance, standardization, implementation and compliance with new processes;
•    be proactive in drawing up and implementing continuous improvement plans (for the benefit of our customers);
•    be responsible internally and externally for the preparation of performance reports.

As Manager Operations you are expected to dare to make decisions and be curious. You manage operationally and jump in where necessary. But above all, you take the lead with regard to monitoring the service for the customers. You don't shy away from changes / growth and get energy from new work.

You bring
•    at least 5 years of work experience in the field of production logistics / warehousing, of which at least 2 years as a manager;
•    a completed HBO or WO education, preferably logistics-related
•    a positive work mentality. You are a doer and thinker, who wants to teach others, to enthuse and to inspire;
•    an excellent command of the Dutch and English language for internal and external use.
