As a customs specialist at DSV, you play an important role in supporting and relieving our internal colleagues when it comes to customs-related matters. You are responsible for the correct and timely processing of customs documentation and certificates for our export and import shipments for both national and international customers, with a strong focus on compliance: You’re on it.

How you do this? You are in daily contact with customs authorities, shipping lines, carriers, and customers. You actively contribute to safeguarding, reviewing, and continuously improving the quality of our processes. You achieve this by:

• collecting and verifying all necessary and additional customs-technical or fiscally relevant information, such as certificates, permits, and documentation related to the type of goods, type of clearance, and the relevant country;
• preparing, processing, and submitting all types of customs declarations in accordance with laws and regulations, including import, export, and transit;
• identifying irregularities or inaccuracies and reporting them to your manager;
• taking care of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, as well as (Intrastat) statistics;
• proactively advising and supporting colleagues on customs formalities. As the first point of contact, you build strong relationships with our customers, internal departments, and, of course, customs authorities.

You bring

• a customs specialist diploma, if you have not completed formal training but have experience as a declarant or in a related role, we still welcome your application;
• familiarity with customs software and tools (Fiton preferred);
• several years of hands-on experience with customs regulations and procedures;
• proficient in Dutch (B1) and English, both written and spoken;
• an organized work attitude, detail-oriented, and you enjoy working in a collaborative and friendly team environment.
