Move forward as Junior Freight Forwarder Road at DSV in Tilburg

Finding the best transport solution for international shipments within road transport: you’re on it. You learn how to build relationships with partners and DSV locations abroad, how to take rules and country-specific requirements into account and how to achieve the best result by switching quickly and smartly.

How you do this? As a junior freight forwarder, you learn how to organise international shipments from A to Z. You look for the best transport solution, taking routes, rates, loading capacity, deadlines and country-specific rules into account. You do not only do this from behind your screen: you communicate daily with customers, carriers, partners and DSV colleagues abroad. This way, you gradually build an international network as well as your future within freight forwarding. You achieve this by:

•  learning how to find the best transport solution, taking routes, costs, capacity, deadlines and country-specific rules into account;
• building and maintaining relationships with customers, carriers, partners and DSV locations abroad;
• communicating with different parties to follow up shipments properly and achieve the best result together;
• keeping calm and maintaining overview when the planning changes, so you continue to switch quickly and find solutions under pressure.

You bring

• vocational or bachelor-level working and thinking level and, above all, the motivation to learn the freight forwarding profession;
• curiosity about international logistics, different countries and the dynamics of road transport;
• a good command of both English and Dutch;
• an accurate, eager-to-learn and resilient attitude, where you enjoy working together and dare to ask questions.

• a salary of up to € 3,300 gross per month, aligned with the knowledge, education and motivation you bring;
• a 5% gratuity payment over your annual salary, paid in November, on top of your 8% holiday pay;
• a position for 32 to 40 hours per week, where, in a full-time position, you can work from home 2 days per week after your onboarding period;
• good guidance from experienced colleagues, so you learn the freight forwarding profession step by step in practice;
• plenty of development and growth opportunities within DSV Road, for example towards freight forwarder, senior freight forwarder or team lead.
