Providing financial insights and advice that directly contribute to strategic decision-making and business optimisatio: you’re on it.

How you do this? As an assistant business controller, you are the financial sparring partner within the Southeast Netherlands region. You ensure that management has accurate and useful financial insights to make strategic decisions. This means conducting profitability analyses per location, examining cost structures, and identifying financial risks.

You work proactively: instead of waiting for questions, you identify trends and discrepancies yourself and propose improvements. Additionally, you are involved in preparing budgets and business cases. This includes providing financial justification for major capital expenditures, such as new equipment or process optimizations, where you assess whether the investment is profitable. You achieve this by:

• improving budgeting and forecasting processes and developing business cases;
• optimising financial reports and advising management based on analyses;
• identifying trends and discrepancies and proactively proposing improvements.

Your team stands out within DSV by its responsibility for the financial management of seven locations and eight profit centres. You work closely with colleagues and the operations department, regularly liaising with site managers and account managers. Within this team, you’ll have plenty of freedom and responsibility to make a direct impact.

You bring

• a completed bachelor's degree in finance or a related field; 
• at least 2 years of experience in a financial role, preferably in logistics or a complex industrial environment;
• extensive knowledge of Excel and experience with SAP;
• good command of both Dutch and English.
