Workshop Manager


What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Head of Workshop for our trailer workshop in Venlo. Our workshop offers full-service repair and maintenance for all types of trailers and trucks, including tyre changes, brake tests, electrical repairs and MOT inspections. The team provides a fast, high-quality and reliable service to our price-conscious customers. DSV Workshops is fast becoming one of the best-run trailer workshops in Europe and this offers growth opportunities for you.


Every day will bring new challenges and we trust you will rise to them. In this position, you are fully responsible for the workshop and its results. Moreover, you will run the workshop as if it were your own.


Furthermore, your tasks will consist of: 

Carefully monitor the work planning and progress of all activities in the workshop;
Manages and prioritises the workload in the workshop
Manage and prioritize the incoming workload and coordinate this with DSV Equipment Center and/or external customers;
You use your thorough technical knowledge to coach and develop the mechanics team;
You are responsible for time allocation and reporting of hours;
You minimise the downtime of the trailer by identifying the most efficient and economical repair method;
Monitoring workshop KPIs;
Preparing, invoicing and booking work cards before the end of the month;
Being responsible for a pleasant customer experience and consulting regularly with the Sales Manager to properly exploit business commercial opportunities
Ensuring that all workshop and breakdown services are carried out correctly within DSV guidelines.

What are we looking for?

As a Workshop Manager you will be passionate and performance driven. One of your main challenges will be the awareness of intercultural differences. It is essential that you are motivated and have the courage to lead a diverse workforce. In addition, we value a "can do" mentality, reliability and flexibility.

Furthermore, we believe that you will fit into this role if you:


Minimum of 5 years demonstrable work experience in the Trailer/Truck industry (or similar);
Previous experience in managing a workshop or workshop management;
You have good technical knowledge;
You have a customer-oriented and team-oriented mentality;
Proactive and confident in taking decisions;
You have good Dutch and English skills;
You get energy from working in a busy and dynamic environment.
