Within the Dock Planning department, you are the first point of contact for drivers, visitors, and external parties. You ensure that transport movements are efficiently registered and directed, helping the logistics process run smoothly: you’re on it.

How you do this? As a Driver Desk Officer, you will be the first point of contact for drivers, visitors, engineers, and other external parties arriving at our site. You will provide a professional and welcoming reception, verify identification documents, and accurately register all relevant information in the appropriate systems.

Using reference numbers and planning information, you will direct drivers to the correct loading or unloading location. If information is missing or does not match, you will liaise with internal departments to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

In addition, you will be responsible for the accurate administrative processing of all transport movements. You will create reference numbers, process registrations in systems such as CargoClix and TopDesk, and maintain close communication with the warehouse, security team, and other relevant departments.

By ensuring that the right information is available at the right time, you contribute to a safe, efficient, and seamless logistics operation. Thanks to your organisational skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities, inbound and outbound transport flows proceed without unnecessary delays. You achieve this by:

• receiving, registering, and directing drivers to the correct dock location based on reference numbers.
• creating and managing reference numbers and supporting drivers with questions or issues relating to their registration.
• maintaining communication with the warehouse, security team, and other internal departments to ensure efficient loading and unloading operations.

Your team stands out within DSV by the close collaboration between Dock Planning, Warehouse Operations, and Security. You will rotate across various locations in Venlo, allowing you to develop a broad range of skills and experience. The team consists of dedicated professionals who support one another and work together to ensure a safe and efficient logistics operation.

You bring

• mbo-level working and thinking ability (vocational education level), preferably combined with experience in a logistics, administrative, or customer-focused environment.
• good command of both Dutch and English, enabling you to communicate professionally with drivers, visitors, and colleagues.
• a meticulous approach to work and strong digital skills, including experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, and administrative systems such as CargoClix or TopDesk.
