Move forward as Logistics Engineer at DSV in Venlo

The Business Change Management department works on supporting the business in general and specifically on streamlining processes for the benefit of both customers and DSV The projects you work on take place worldwide at various DSV locations. It varies per project how often and/or you have to be on location to realize the project and you work on it! 

 

How you do this? In the position of Logistics Engineer, you work in an international environment. As a person, you are independent and the leader who knows how to communicate and cooperate at all levels to deliver the project in the right way. You are able to drive customer implementations using data analysis, process design, application configuration combined with automation. You have a hands on mentality, you work in a structured manner, and you are willing and able to travel (approximately 10-20% of the time). You're on it. 

 

You support and deliver as part of a project the business requirements as agreed with the customer. You initiate and facilitate workshops with customers, operations, and IT to define these objectives and processes. You also design and evaluate the warehouse processes and determine and quantify the impact on the overall business.  You also present the results in a professional and understandable way. For existing business, you are able to assess these processes, design and help implement optimizations. You get this done by: 

  • collecting data from internal and external sources; 
  • analysing the data sets; 
  • warehouse and process evaluations and design; 
  • configuring the required setup in the Warehouse Management System; 
  • system testing of the setup before it is presented to operations for user acceptance testing.

 

Your team stands out within DSV due to its international nature and the complexity and diversity of its many projects. Then you are in progress organising and conducting workshops with new customers, the next day you are on a plane to design a complete warehouse process and determine the total impact on the business with all steakholders yourself.  The dynamics are different every day!

You bring

  • a Bachelor or Master degree; 
  • 0-3 years of working experience (as a logistics engineer) within contract logistics, preferably in an international environment;  
  • experience with implementing WMS systems (preferably BlueYonder WMS Dispatcher).
