POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the facility, building systems, material handling equipment, and related infrastructure. This position provides day-to-day leadership and coordination of facility maintenance activities, preventive maintenance programs, repairs, inspections, vendors, contractors, and facility-related projects.

The Facilities Supervisor partners closely with the General Manager, Operations, Safety, and other site leadership to minimize equipment downtime, maintain a safe and functional work environment, and ensure facility and equipment needs support operational requirements. This position is responsible for identifying facility risks, prioritizing maintenance needs, coordinating resources, and ensuring work is completed safely, timely, and in accordance with DSV standards and applicable requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily facility and maintenance activities to support safe and uninterrupted warehouse operations.
• Develop, coordinate, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems, equipment, and material handling equipment.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and building walks to proactively identify maintenance needs, equipment concerns, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee the condition, maintenance, and repair of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, dock equipment, doors, racking, fire/life-safety systems, and other facility infrastructure.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities for material handling equipment and other operational equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, batteries, chargers, and related equipment as applicable to the site.
• Review maintenance requests and work orders, establish priorities, coordinate resources, and monitor work through completion.
• Troubleshoot facility and equipment issues and coordinate appropriate internal or external resources for repairs.
• Serve as the primary site contact for facility-related vendors, contractors, and service providers.
• Obtain estimates and coordinate vendor scheduling, access, repair work, preventive maintenance, inspections, and other contracted services.
• Monitor vendor and contractor performance to ensure work is completed safely, timely, and in accordance with established expectations.
• Maintain accurate facility maintenance records, inspection documentation, work orders, service records, preventive maintenance schedules, and other required documentation.
• Utilize applicable maintenance tracking systems or CMMS tools to monitor work orders, preventive maintenance, asset condition, and repair history.
• Monitor equipment performance and recurring maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintain appropriate inventory and availability of maintenance supplies, replacement parts, tools, and facility-related materials.
• Assist site leadership with facility maintenance budgets, repair costs, vendor expenses, capital needs, and facility-related planning.
• Coordinate facility projects, installations, repairs, modifications, and improvements while minimizing disruption to operations.
• Ensure facility-related work is performed in accordance with applicable safety requirements, company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support compliance with OSHA requirements and site safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, equipment safety, hazard identification, and required inspections.
• Identify and promptly address unsafe facility or equipment conditions and escalate significant concerns to the General Manager and appropriate Safety leadership.
• Partner with Operations to coordinate maintenance activities around production schedules and business needs.
• Provide direction, training, and oversight to assigned maintenance employees or other associates performing facility-related work.
• Coordinate work assignments and priorities and ensure assigned activities are completed accurately and timely.
• Support training and development related to equipment use, facility procedures, preventive maintenance, and applicable safety requirements.
• Promote a clean, organized, safe, and operationally ready facility.
• Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, facility condition, safety, efficiency, and cost control.
• Respond appropriately to urgent facility or equipment issues that could affect employee safety or business operations.
• Communicate facility conditions, significant repairs, equipment downtime, project status, and identified risks to the General Manager and appropriate site leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facilities Supervisor provides leadership and direction for facility and maintenance activities at the site. Depending on site structure, this position may directly supervise maintenance employees or provide functional direction to employees, vendors, and contractors performing facility-related work.

Responsibilities may include assigning and prioritizing work, monitoring performance, providing training and coaching, ensuring compliance with safety and operating procedures, and partnering with site leadership and P&O regarding employee performance and development.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, warehouse maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related field.
• Previous experience providing leadership, work direction, or supervision within a maintenance, facilities, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar operational environment.
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and facility maintenance programs.
• Experience coordinating repairs, vendors, contractors, or service providers.
• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or other industrial environment preferred.
• Must be able to work in environments with varying temperatures and operational conditions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or additional hours as operational needs require.

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), work-order systems, or similar maintenance tracking tools.
• Ability to learn and utilize DSV systems and other applicable facility or operational technology.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating instructions, equipment manuals, technical documentation, work orders, and vendor information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, site leadership, vendors, contractors, and external service providers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to perform basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
• Ability to review costs, quantities, measurements, equipment information, and other facility-related data.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Working knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, mechanical systems, dock equipment, and general building maintenance.
• Knowledge of warehouse material handling equipment and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify safety hazards and equipment or facility conditions requiring corrective action.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple competing needs.
• Ability to coordinate vendors, contractors, maintenance activities, and facility projects.
• Ability to work independently and exercise appropriate judgment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Operations, Safety, P&O, and site leadership.
• Ability to respond effectively to urgent facility or equipment issues in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safe maintenance practices, including Lockout/Tagout, preferred.
• Familiarity with maintenance budgets, repair estimates, service contracts, and cost management preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree, technical certification, trade school education, or equivalent training in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or a related discipline.
• Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing facility, or other industrial operation.
• Experience with CMMS or preventive maintenance management systems.
• Experience with material handling equipment, conveyors, automation, dock systems, forklifts, batteries, and charging systems.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Relevant equipment, electrical, HVAC, or maintenance certifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk throughout the facility. The employee may frequently be required to bend, reach, push, pull, squat, kneel, climb, and access equipment or facility areas.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as required. The position may require use of stairs, ladders, or approved equipment to inspect or access facility systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee will work primarily within a warehouse/distribution environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures, dust, noise, moving equipment, mechanical systems, and other conditions typical of an operational facility.

The employee may occasionally work outdoors or in mechanical, equipment, dock, roof, or other facility areas. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required.

The Facilities Supervisor is expected to maintain a strong safety focus and comply with all DSV safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $63,360 - $79,200/annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
