Your responsibilities: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain Unix operating systems (such as RHEL 7-9, SLES 11, 12, 15) 
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, ensuring optimal performance and scalability 
  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including patch management, software upgrades, and system backups 
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect Unix systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats 
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls according to company policies and regulatory requirements 
  • Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation 
  • Respond to system alerts and users-reported issues, diagnosing and resolving technical problems in a timely manner 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to application owners experiencing Unix-related issues 
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot complex problems and implement effective solutions 
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and maintain accurate records of system configurations and changes 
  • Ability to perform disaster recovery test 
  • Possibility of switching to shift work if unexpected changes occur like cyber-attack, systems recovery, etc. 
  • Develop and maintain one of following shell scripts, Ansible, and automation tools to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency 
  • Implement configuration management tools (such as Ansible) to automate system provisioning, deployment, and configuration 
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in Unix system administration 
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization 
  • Propose and implement enhancements to Unix systems and procedures to enhance performance, reliability, and security 

 

Our requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 

  • Proven experience as a Unix/Linux system administrator, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment (5 years minimum) 

  • In-depth knowledge of Unix operating systems, including system internals, file systems, networking, and security 

  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, or similar) and experience with automation tools (e.g. Ansible) 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues 

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and containerization (e.g., Docker) 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment 

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer, Linux Professional Institute Certification) are a plus 

  • Experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker Compose are a plus 

  • Experience with any of the following will also be appreciated:
