The Central Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining and ensuring accuracy of the automated sorter and conveyors, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Verify the daily sort plan configuration, communicating hourly volume levels, and overall sorter induction status utilizing software system to Operations Supervisors and Managers.
  • Perform virtual sorter maintenance by verifying and acknowledging faults on the sortation system.
  • Maintain communication with the automated technicians and coordinate downtimes for repairs with management.
  • Ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the sorter by performing all pre-sort checks and daily priming of the conveyors, monitoring and controlling all sorter operations, troubleshooting, and clearing errors.
  • Monitor system for jams and problem areas, communicate information to managers and technicians.
  • Receive communication from receivers and management when new trailers arrive, document on control log and track.
  • Complete all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all housekeeping standards.
  • Communicate via Slack

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (IF ANY) 

  • None 

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High school diploma or equivalent training and/or one (1) year transportation or warehouse experience preferred required skills. 

Education and/or Experience 

  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Business Administration, Business Management, or related field preferred.

 

Computer Skills 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 
  • Outlook
  • WCS Tool
  • Dematic Visual Aid

 

 

 

 

Other Skills 

 

  • Understand, and carry out written instructions
  • Count, perform addition and subtraction
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Work with a minimum amount of supervision, under pressure, rapidly for long periods and on several tasks at the same time
