SUMMARY

The Sr. IT Specialist is a key member of the Solutions IT Support team which supports the warehouse management system portfolio consisting of internal and external products at a state-of-art distribution center located in Wayne, NJ. The incumbent will obtain excellent product knowledge from the software providers and maximize the in-house knowledge to leverage the IT value chain. The role is to maintain a positive and constructive relationship with the internal and external customers to achieve common aims and objectives.

                                                                                          

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • This key role supports all aspects of the WMS application infrastructure.

This includes:
 

    • Blue Yonder/JDA Dispatcher WMS
    • Parcel shipping solutions
    • Automation equipment
    • RF devices
    • Printers

 

  • Coordination and management of all system administrative relevant IT aspects within support area for warehouse applications.
  • Consulting with the requesting parties in all questions and technical aspects of warehouse application infrastructure and respective process definition.
  • Daily professional support of implemented warehouse management systems in all technical aspects in DSV and Partner (Blue Yonder/JDA, third party software providers) ticketing systems.
  • In this role, he/she is working in an environment with multiple partners, the IT infrastructure teams, the logistics teams, the Operations Management team, etc
  • The Sr. IT Specialist is single point of contact for the support aspects in a production environment.
  • The Sr. IT Specialist is the technical contact for any technical problems with WMS and infrastructure for WMS.
     

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Good understanding of Information Technology and software project methodologies and processes
  • Good understanding of project management
  • Broad knowledge in logistics, mainly warehouse management, supply chain solutions and freight forwarding
  • Good understanding of IT trends related to warehouse management systems & technologies
  • Overall understanding of DSV business processes and interdependencies
  • Knowledge of business processes, in particular warehousing concepts

Perform other duties as required/assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in IT, business administration, logistics or a similar discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience, ideally in an international environment with strong focus on Blue Yonder/JDA dispatcher warehousing system management
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with JDA  Dispatcher in at least 4 domains:
     
    1. WMS infrastructure support (must)
    2. WMS configuration (must)
    3. MOCA/DDA,
    4. Integrator
    5. Jasper / Blue Yonder/JDA reporting
    6. Parcel
  • Highly skilled in SQL

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

 

Computer Skills

Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications is required

 

Language Skills

English (reading, writing, and verbal)

 

Mathematical Skills

Intermediate

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.  May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.  Hours can be extensive as well as occasionally staggered for multi-shift access.
